Approximately 600-700 people came
through the doors of Fiddler on Broadway on the frigid First
Night of 2009 for a drink of hot apple-cider, some Judaica
purchases, lively Jewish music and Chanukah games (a few days
past the holiday). Kids came in for crafts, Judaic computer
games and activities. Quite a few even joined in some dancing,
to wake up from the cold outside!
Each year Saratoga Chabad does
a special giveaway for First-Night participants, and this year,
recognizing the challenging economic crisis and difficult
credit-crunch affecting everyone, distributed this credit-card
looking "Good-Card" below - with a sticker on back that read:
"Beats the Credit-Crises, Money
isn't Everything; Mitzvot are Eternal!"

Saratoga Chabad's seasonal Fiddler
on Broadway Chanukah Boutique Shop and Jewish Activity Center
will close after the New Year. Look for our re-opening at a
yet-to-be scheduled time and location later in the year.
We are thankful to all the
guests who stopped in and enjoyed our presence on Broadway,
whether it was on our two busiest nights: The Victorian Walk or
First Night, which between them hosted perhaps as many as 1800
people, for the Chanukah Party on Dec 28th, or on any one of the
quieter afternoons throughout December 2008. Your participation
made having Fiddler open very worthwhile.
