“Purim in the Land of Israel” is Saratoga Chabad's creative twist this year on their annual Purim party. 10am-2pm at Saratoga Chabad, 130 Circular Street in the heart of historic and beautiful Saratoga Springs.

The celebration will begin at 10am with a unique show by entertainer KrazyTyrone, the Guinness Book of World Records holder for Jump-Rope and Simon Says among other unusual talents. Fun for young and old alike, KrazyTyrone performed for many years at Jewish resorts in the Catskills.

Followed by a Multimedia Megillah Reading, accompanied by Graggers and noise-making.

The Israel experience includes:

  • Felafel and Shwarma in the Tel-Aviv Shuk
  • Fresh-Squeezed Orange Juice from Jaffa
  • Purim Masks and an Archeological Dig in the Negev
  • An Art Gallery in Tzfat, plus Marcus the Caricaturist
  • Cards for IDF in Hebron
  • Fax a Prayer to the Kotel - Western Wall, and Photo-Op there
  • Live Israeli Music

Please come dressed in some kind of costume, or funny hat, young and old alike. Winner will have their cartoon drawn by Marcus. All children with costumes will receive a prize.

Purim celebrates the salvation of the Jewish people, from Haman's plot “to destroy, kill and annihilate all the Jews, young and old, infants and women, in a single day.” It is observed by public readings of the Megillah ‘Scroll of Esther’, sending food to friends, giving money to the poor, and enjoying a festive meal accompanied with joyous festivity.
