Morris Katz
"world's fastest painter"
unique live art at Saratoga Chabad's
SHALOM FESTIVAL '07
Sunday,
August 5th, Congress Park, Saratoga |
 |
| Morris Katz, dubbed as the
world's fastest painter, created dozens of paintings on-site at the Shalom
Festival in Congress Park as many onlookers watched him at work, chatted
with him, and purchased the very artwork (at a very reasonable price) they
watched him paint. All afternoon, people stopped by and lingered on...
|
 |
 |
| Just after painting Fiddler on
the Roof, artist Morris Katz poses with the painting and the Kudan brothers.
|
This customer purchased this
painting of Saratoga horse-racing while the paint was still wet. |
 |
 |
| Morris explains to a visitor that
he learned his unique shmear technique from the famous English poet William
Shakeshmear. |
Young and old enjoyed watching
Morris at work, as the colors and detail take form and and images emerge
from the background. |
 |
 |
| Not only is Morris Katz
fascinating to watch at work, he's funny to listen to as well. He entertains
and kids around while he paints. |
His trademark shirt reads in
part: World's fastest artist, entertainer, as seen on TV, and in Ripley's
Believe it or Not, Guiness Book of World Records, his studio address and
phone number... |
 |
 |
 |
| These three paintings above
(Wolves in Woods, Birds at Sea, and Rachel's Tomb) were among the dozens he
created during the five hours of the Shalom Festival in Congress Park.
