historic Congress Park in the heart of beautiful Saratoga!

SEEN AT THE FESTIVAL
Young and old, from as close as Saratoga and as far as Israel, came together
on a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon in historic Congress Park to celebrate
the Shalom Festival.
MORRIS KATZ
People kept coming to watch this master artist at work, creating dozens of
paintings by the time the afternoon was done. Some purchased paintings at

THE
JEWNITY BAND
Throughout the festive afternoon, all enjoyed the
lively Jewish music by Shachar Luz and his Jewnity Band.
CLOWNS, MAGIC, FACE=PAINTING & BALLOONS
Kids loved to get their faces painted, ride inside the clown car, watch two
magical performances, and get balloons in the shape of a hat, a duck etc..
THE SHOFAR FACTORY
A hit again this year, many stopped over to the Do it Yourself Shofar right
in Congress Park!
KOSHER FOOD CONCESSION
Kosher falafel, Israeli snacks & cold drinks will be for sale. Plus
hundreds of samples of delicious Kosher Parve (and vegan) ice-cream will be
distributed free of charge courtesy of Turtle Mountain.
MITZVAHBOBS AND MITZVAH
OPPORTUNITIES
Giant MitzvahBob (spongebob-type) characters were displayed throughout the
festival highlighting awareness of specific Mitzvot. A special MitzvahBob
Tour brochure explained the background and significance of each Mitzvah.
SHALOM FESTIVAL
IN THE SARATOGIAN
The Shalom Festival was featured this year on Channel 11
News, as well as in several newspapers.
VENDORS:
THE MITZVAH
CENTER Rabbi Serebryanski had a big selection of Jewish books, games,
DVDs and Judaica for sale at the Shalom Festival.
THE VEGAN TABLE offered information
and brochures on vegan lifestyle as well as tasty vegan and organic s'mores
giveaways.
THE BIG YELLOW BOX by Crayola sold
a variety of useful and creative art projects for kids to do at home.
SARATOGA
APPLE Joseph's delicious
fresh-picked produce and cold cider.
HANDCRAFTED JEWELRY
available for sale by the designer.
Plus Congress Park is a beautiful place on
any afternoon. Kids can ride the carousel in the park for 50 cents, you can
sample a variety of natural springs bubbling throughout the park, check out
the famous Spit & Spat fountains, watch fish swim in the fish ponds, stroll
through its pathways, and there are many fine spots for a memorable photo.
